Feel the excitement build as knights in shining armour joust, their horses thundering across the field and steel clashing in the ultimate fight for victory. This high-energy, hard-hitting joust promises sword-swinging action, daring stunts, and plenty of surprises as knights vie for the title in front of an eager crowd.
Will the White Knight emerge victorious or will the Black Knight triumph? You’ll have to be there to find out!
Set in the stunning grounds of Rockingham Castle, this jousting spectacle is a unique opportunity to experience the thrill of knights in combat—an unmissable event for all ages. Bring your friends and family, cheer for your favourite knight, and enjoy the drama and excitement of an ancient tradition come to life!
The Castle closes at 3pm so make sure to visit here before the joust if you have purchased a House, Gardens and event ticket.

Jousting & Medieval Living History Village Timetable
Grounds open at 11am – Castle opens at 11:30am
From 12 Noon onwards – Jester display on the Terrace Lawn
12.30pm – Arming the Knight and Combat on the Tilting Lawn
1.30pm – Kids Drill Bill ~ Children will be invited to join the Knights in the Jousting Arena
2pm – Jousting commences on the Tilting Lawn
4pm – Event Finish
Historic Houses Memberships, The English Garden Readers 2-for-1 & Gardeners World 2-for-1 are not valid on event days.
Rockingham Castle Gardens, Castle & Events Memberships are accepted. Unfortunately Gardens Only membership does not allow entry.
