We warmly invite you to a special Rose Day at Rockingham Castle on 12th June 2025, a chance to spend time among roses and fellow garden lovers in a truly historic setting.
The day will consist of a talk from Liam Beddall and Richard Stubbs, Senior Rose Consultants at David Austin® Roses. They will share the story behind David Austin’s English roses – their history, fragrance, and how they are bred – with plenty of practical advice on caring for them and choosing companion plants. Liam and Richard will also speak about the collaboration between Rockingham Castle and David Austin® Roses, exploring how the Rose Garden has evolved and what’s to come. After the talk, we’ll step outside to enjoy the roses in full bloom. This is a chance to see the roses up close, discuss different varieties, and reflect on the future of the garden in the company of like-minded enthusiasts.
Our Garden Consultant Kate Toller, and Deborah Baker will lead the group with a history of the Castle gardens and talk through the planting plans for the gardens, including how particular plants thrive in certain areas of the historic gardens.
The day will also include a two course lunch for all, and the opportunity to talk all things gardens with likeminded enthusiasts. Lunch will consist of a seasonal quiche, salad and buttered new potatoes with a sweet treat for pudding, served with Tea & Coffee.
A relaxed and inspiring day for anyone who loves roses and their place in our gardens
Places are £60 per person and includes a two course lunch.
