English Civil War Day promises a day of family fun, historic intrigue, and adventure!
Grounds open at 11am Castle opens at 11:30 11am – Join Sir Lewis Watson in the at the Castle towers and in the courtyard. 11:30 – The Castle opens. 12:00 – Military Display – Infantry Cavalry and Artillery display on the Tilting Lawn. 12:30 – Children’s Drill – Children will learn how to train for combat on a civil war battlefield. 1pm – Meet Sir Lewis Watson in the Courtyard and discover how he intends to save Rockingham from the Parliamentarians. 2:30 – The Siege of Rockingham. 3pm – Last entry to Castle. 3:15 – Children’s Drill Part 2 – Children will learn how to train for combat on a civil war battlefield. 4pm – Event Finishes. |
